Professor Lowry returns to Washburn Law from private practice in estate law. She previously taught at Washburn Law for twelve years, from 1989 to 2001. Her courses included Bioethics; Criminal Law; Civil Procedure; Legal Methods; and Legal Analysis, Research, and Writing.
Professor Lowry's clerkships after law school were first for Justice Harold S. Herd of the Kansas Supreme Court, and then for Chief Justice Robert H. Miller. Professor Lowry is licensed to practice in Kansas state courts, the Tenth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. She is married to Kirk W. Lowry, a civil rights attorney, and they have four children: Hannah, Sam, Toby, and David.
